Kurt Angle Claims WWE Contacted Him About TV Return

Would apparently be for a brief period

Longtime WWE star Kurt Angle claims that WWE recently contacted him about a return to television, "for the next month or so."

Angle revealed the detail on his "Kurt Angle Show" podcast, after co-host Paul Bromwell asked about a phone call that Angle had recently received.

"Yes, I did [get a call], from the WWE" Angle said. "And they want me to be involved in the show for the next month or so. And I'm really excited about it. So, we'll see what's in store for me."

Angle gave no other details on what this reported role would involve.

The episode of the podcast was released on Sunday, but recorded prior to Saturday's Royal Rumble. WWE brought Angle into St. Louis for the pay-per-view, but he did not appear on the card.

PWInsider reported that Angle recorded content for WWE Network on Peacock while in St. Louis.

The 53-year-old former WWE champion last wrestled at WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019, losing to Baron Corbin. He was part of WWE's mass releases in April 2020, but has made appearances for the company since.
