Kurt Angle Thought Controversial WWE Storyline Was 'Just Sh*t'

The Hall of Famer thought a 2005 storyline was 'distasteful'

Kurt Angle wasn't a fan of a controversial WWE storyline that took place during his first run with the company.

In early 2005, Matt Hardy publicly revealed that his girlfriend Lita and good friend Edge had been having an affair on the road while he was at home recovering from knee surgery.

While Matt was released not long after breaking the news, he was quickly brought back to work a reality-based programme with Edge and Lita.

Discussing his dislike for the love triangle storyline during a recent edition of The Kurt Angle Show podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer said:

"I was really tight with Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz and when they did that whole thing I didn't like it. To be honest with you, it wasn't very tasteful. I understand why they were doing it, and I understand Matt Hardy was on board with it, but I didn't like it. I thought it was just sh*t".

Angle was also critical of Edge and Lita's infamous 'Live Sex Celebration' from the January 9, 2006 edition of Raw, saying "A lot of people would love to see Lita naked, don't get me wrong. But that wasn't the right time or the place".

Though he wasn't a fan of the angle, the Olympic gold medallist did praise Lita for her professionalism, saying:

"Lita was a professional. She never missed a spot when she worked with the Hardys. She was always there at the right times. And you know Lita was easy to work with so hitting her with the Angle Slam was nothing".
