Following the announcement by CMLL that La Catalina exited the promotion on April 1, further details about her departure from the company has been revealed.

According to BodySlam, La Catalina grew unhappy with her booking in CMLL and she informed the Lucha Libre promotion that she didn't plan to renew her contract. The belief amongst some is that La Catalina could now be AAA-bound.

Speculation has suggested that La Catalina could debut on the live episode of AAA TV on April 11, which is set to feature a celebration by Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer. Should Catalina join AAA, she would be the first high-profile jump from CMLL to AAA since Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide was acquired by WWE and Fillip in 2025.

La Catalina has experience with WWE, having wrestled for the company from 2019 until 2021. She made her televised debut in November 2019 as Carolina to team with Sin Cara against Andrade and Zelina Vega on Monday Night Raw, but she spent the remainder of her run in NXT.

La Catalina debuted for CMLL in 2023 and she was a featured member of the promotion's women's division. She also wrestled for Ring of Honor on several occasions through the AEW/ROH-CMLL working relationship, which included facing Red Velvet for the ROH Women's World Television Title in April 2025.
