A match between IYO SKY and Asuka has been heavily teased for WrestleMania 42 to the point that SKY called out her former Damage CTRL stablemate on Tuesday, following a promo on Raw in which Asuka blamed SKY for the current tensions within the Kabuki Warriors.
Reports over the past month have also noted that Asuka vs. IYO SKY is planned for WrestleMania 42, but such a match has yet to be made official for WWE's biggest weekend of the year despite WrestleMania 42 being less than two weeks away.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, this is all because of Nikki Bella's status for WrestleMania 42. If Bella isn't cleared to team with her sister Brie at WrestleMania in the Women's Tag Team Title match, the current plan is for the Kabuki Warriors to replace the Bella Twins. If Nikki is cleared to compete, then IYO SKY vs. Asuka will take place at WrestleMania as planned.
Nikki Bella sustained a foot injury on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and WWE announced she is currently rehabbing the injury in the hopes she will be ready for WrestleMania.
