LA Knight Defends WWE Booking Decision

LA Knight has taken to social media to defend a decision made by WWE.

LA Knight has defended a WWE booking decision on social media, following his King of the Ring tournament victory over Santos Escobcar.

Some of the early round King and Queen of the Ring matches have taken place at WWE live events rather than on TV. The booking of Knight's match at such an event even resulted in the trending hashtag #WeWantLAKnight.

Both Knight and women's division star Tiffany Stratton progressed in such a manner, beating Escobar and Michin respectively at a house show in Chattanooga, Tennessee over the weekend.

In response to some fans' annoyance about the bouts taking place away from televised episodes, Knight tweeted:

"I appreciate everyone saying this match should’ve been on TV. But no need to throw live event crowds under the bus. Live events are where the WWE roster has as much fun as possible. Not only having a great match, but a match with HUGE stakes makes the live events more fun!"

The finals of both tournaments will take place at the King & Queen of the Ring pay-per-view in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25. Several title matches have also been announced for the show:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul - Champion vs. Champion
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan - Women's World Championship
  • Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed - Triple Threat for the Intercontinental Championship
