LA Knight Reveals Why His WWE Run As Max Dupri Didn't Work
LA Knight speaks about why his initial WWE main roster stint as Max Dupri didn't work.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, WWE Superstar LA Knight spoke about why his stint as fashion agent Max Dupri didn't quite work, stating:
"How honest do you want me to be? I'll just say this, at the end of the day I can make anything work. But at the end of the day [...] I'll tell you this, it wasn't me. So when things came to pass and LA Knight started to shine through, it was the right place to go and not a moment too soon."
Knight lost to Bray Wyatt at the Royal Rumble in the Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match, before being attacked by Uncle Howdy in the bout's aftermath.
Otherwise known as Eli Drake in IMPACT Wrestling and NWA, Knight enjoyed a stint in NXT before debuting on the main roster as Max Dupri. He managed Maximum Male Models alongside kayfabe sister Maxxine, before leaving the group shortly before going back to his previous persona.
Now a regular on the SmackDown roster, it remains to be seen what lies in store for Knight, and whether his feud with Wyatt will continue.
