Latest On Tampa Bay Area Officials Considering Cancellation Of WWE WrestleMania 36

Amid many sports and entertainment-related cancellations...

In the wake of widespread sports and entertainment event cancellations and postponements, as well as a 30 day travel ban into the US for most nations, attention has turned to whether or not WWE WrestleMania 36, scheduled for Sunday, April 5 from Tampa, will be affected.

As of right now, there is no change in plans. Tampa city officials announced Thursday afternoon that they would re-evaluate in one week's time the plans for WrestleMania 36, and if any changes would be made.

Because WrestleMania is still several weeks away, it was explained that Tampa officials didn't want to "pull the plug" just yet, and wanted to wait another week to see where things stood.

There will be another meeting at 1:30 PM EST on Thursday, March 19, where more updates and information will be made available.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has already recommended that all mass gatherings in the state of Florida over the next 30 days be postponed or cancelled. DeSantis has already cancelled non-essential travel for state employees, and recommended that work be done remotely.
