Latest Update On The Rumoured Undertaker WWE SummerSlam 2019 Match

Will The Deadman be facing Drew McIntyre?

As the weeks go on, it looks increasingly likely that The Undertaker will be appearing at SummerSlam 2019.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that local advertising in the Toronto area was listing The Deadman in a singles match against Drew McIntyre - one of his opponents at this weekend's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

The presence of ‘Taker appeared to be newsworthy at the time as when announcing the placeholder matches that will eventually be replaced by the actual card for an event, WWE often pit the current Universal Champion against their main TV rival at the time, the current WWE Champion against their main TV rival, and so on.

However, it appears that 'Taker/Drew isn't on the cards at the moment - that's according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, at least.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Dave Meltzer penned in the latest WON: "WWE is advertising Undertaker vs. McIntyre for SummerSlam on 8/11 in the Toronto market. We’re told that is typical local market advertising and that is not the actual plan right now for the show. But in pushing Undertaker so hard, that would seem to indicate he’ll be featured on the show, which makes sense. If Undertaker was only working one summer event, it would be SummerSlam, so him coming back for Extreme Rules only made sense to set the table for a big SummerSlam match."
