Leon Ruff Reacts To WWE Release

Ruff was cut from the WWE this past weekend

After his surprise release at the weekend, Leon Ruff has given his thoughts on his exit from WWE.

Taking to Twitter, Ruff said: “I was able to compete against and earn respect from wreslters [sic] I looked up to. Make an impact in/and inspire the wwe universe. And everyday I got to go to work with my best friend. Thank you all for the love -Leon””

Ruff officially signed with WWE in late 2020 after numerous appearances as ‘local talent’ on main roster WWE television. In his time on NXT he memorably feuded with Isaiah Swerve Scott and Johnny Gargano, defeating the latter for the NXT North American Title and having a 25 day reign with the belt.

At only 25 years old, Ruff still has a long wrestling career ahead of him if he wants it, provided he can stay injury free. Before his WWE run, Ruff was a mainstay of Evolve from 2018 to 2020, reigning as Evolve Tag Team Champions with AR Fox in 2019.
