Lio Rush Injured At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Injury to Lio Rush at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Lio Rush sustained an injury at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday night.

Rush was one of six competitors in the Ladder Match to crown a new TNT Champion that was ultimately won by Jack Perry. It was announced by Beyond Wrestling following the pay-per-view that Rush suffered an injury at Forbidden Door and he would be unable to face Aaron Rourke at the promotion's Americanrana show on Thursday, July 4.

"BREAKING: Lio Rush suffered an injury during tonight's ladder match and will no longer be able to compete against @PerfectAaron1 at #Americanrana this Thursday, 4th of July at White Eagle in Worcester. We are working to find a suitable replacement..." Beyond Wrestling tweeted

Rush has since addressed the injury, posting on X: "I'm not suffering, but man am I in some pain. What a night. What a match. I'll be back for more. Thanks to everyone for riding with me on this journey through the #ForbiddenDoor."

Rush later noted: "I'm good guys. Couple ice baths and I'll be straight. I appreciate the concern."

Rush made his return to All Elite Wrestling on the May 29 episode of Dynamite. He has since looked to link back up with Dante Martin and his faction mates in Darius Martin and Action Andretti and the expectation, according to reports, is Rush will be a regular in AEW moving forward. It is unknown if Rush has signed with the promotion, however.
