Shawn Chan, the alleged stalker of Liv Morgan, has requested to be released from jail ahead of his trial later this year.

PWInsider has reported that a motion filed on August 20 asked the court to reconsider him being held without bail. The filing claimed that Chan's attorneys have secured a Salvation Army location for him to reside at until the trial begins. The court has yet to rule on Chan's request, and he remains incarcerated in Hernando County, Florida.

Chan is expected to stand trial in November. He recently signed a Waiver of Speedy Trial to "allow adequate time to conduct a psychiatric evaluation of the defendant."

Shawn Chan flew from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada to Orlando, Florida on May 26, telling customs in Florida that he would be staying at the WWE Performance Center. A few days later, Chan travelled for several hours to Liv Morgan's home, according to the criminal complaint against him. Chan then circled the property several times and entered through the backyard. He then tried to enter the house, trying the door handle and looking for a spare key. After waiting for two hours, Chan left a note and departed.

Chan's note read, in part: "It's me Shawn the guy you all hang out with on [name of gaming platform] online. You've been trying to contact me, or should I say reach out to me when I'm absent from that game. So who's the stalker huh?!  I NEVER said and did anything bad for over 10 years, yet you all dared hating me for no reason. I came here to pay just a friendly visit, nothing more. Yet, I'm the one who looks like a stalker thx to all of you. And you all think I'm going to have empathy, sympathy and care about any of you anymore? I will start talking and doing whatever I want despite all your shoosh finger faces that you all make.  Yea, I just wanted to let you know that I was here."

Chan was arrested by the FBI on June 3 outside of the WWE Performance Center after WWE security recognised him and alerted the authorities. Chan was indicted on June 25 and is facing up to five years in prison.

Liv Morgan is currently away from WWE TV, having sustained a dislocated shoulder in a freak injury on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw. Morgan is expected to be out of action for several months.
