Luchasaurus Undergoes Fourth Surgery Of 2026, Hoping To Return By The End Of The Year

Luchasaurus is hopeful of returning to All Elite Wrestling by the end of 2026, having undergone four surgeries this year.

Appearing on KFS Spotlight, a podcast about the New York Knicks, Luchasaurus revealed he won't be in London for AEW All In due to recovering from his fourth surgery of the year, with the wrestler having procedures to fix two torn rotator cuffs, a left meniscus, and a right elbow in 2026. The former AEW TNT Champion underwent his first shoulder surgery in February and then had a second procedure in April, with Luchasaurus hopeful he will be cleared around October to see what a return for the 41-year-old will look like.

"That's the good thing about where I work, I don't feel pressured because my buddy's got a storyline going right now. We'll make sure it's the right time when I can come back, but I want to make sure when I come back, because this will be the healthiest I’ve ever been I think on TV, which is crazy. A lot of these injuries are wear and tear too over the years from trying to grind on the independents. So I'm curious to see how I'll physically look with these things cleaned up. It's a little scared but excited, so hopefully by the end of this year. We'll see," Luchasaurus said.

Luchasaurus was written off AEW TV at New Year's Smash on December 31, 2025 with an attack from The Demand due to dealing with a shoulder injury. He has made sporadic non-wrestling appearances for AEW since then, including driving the Jurassic Express bus to the ring at Revolution for the Blackjack Battle Royale that saw Jack Perry win the AEW National Championship.

Luchasaurus has suffered from an injury hampered couple of years as he was previously on the shelf for one year from September 2024 to September 2025 after suffering a life-threatening case of double pneumonia.
