Mace Reveals Scrapped WWE Gimmicks He Was Pitched

Ma.çé could have been a cyberpunk mercenary

Ma.çé of Maximum Male Models has been titillating the juices of your guilty pleasures over the past year alongside Maxxine Dupri and Mån.sôör and the trio have become popular additions to the main roster as an undercard stable.

Ma.çé is just the latest gimmick for the former NFL player and he initially appeared on WWE programming at the announce table as Dio Maddin. He was then repackaged in 2020 as MACE in RETRIBUTION before keeping the name and forming a tag team with T-Bar until he was transformed into Ma.çé in 2022.

It all could have been so different for Ma.çé, though, and he revealed to Metro that scrapped gimmicks pitched to him included a cyberpunk mercenary and an executioner.

"Honestly. I was sitting at home for a couple of months, kind of waiting to decide what I was going to do next. I got a call and they said, 'All those things that we talked about, you're not going to do. We have an idea for you!' I was almost a cyberpunk mercenary, a bounty hunter, an executioner. Axe, hood and all - there's concept art. I was like, 'Even better! Rock and roll!' At the end of the day, we're God’s greatest clowns, and if you give us anything - in this grand circus of life, we are God's greatest clowns," Ma.çé said.

Maximum Male Models haven't wrestled on WWE TV since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on March 31 but they have remained on TV as MMM try to recruit Otis to their stable.
