TNA Emergence main event revealed
Aug 16, 2024
TNA Wrestling are on the road to Emergence, with the next TNA+ special set for August 30.
TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth will face his toughest test as champion at the event, with Nemeth putting the belt on the line against former champion Josh Alexander in a one-hour Iron Man match on the show. The two clashed for the title on the August 15 edition of IMPACT, going to a 30-minute time limit draw.
Nemeth won the title at Slammiversary on July 20, and has since successfully defended the belt against Mustafa Ali. Alexander has shown a newfound aggressive streak, turning heel at Slammiversary after feeling slighted at being the forgotten man in TNA since dropping the belt due to injury in 2023, and with the rise of Joe Hendry amongst other things.
Elsewhere, TNA X Division Champion Mike Bailey is to put his belt on the line in a six-man Ultimate X match. Four competitors have been revealed for the bout thus far, with Zachary Wentz, Jason Hotch, and WWE NXT’s Riley Osborne set to battle ‘Speedball’ for the belt. The remaining spots will be decided in a pair of threeway matches on the August 22 IMPACT, with Frankie Kazarian vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hammerstone and Laredo Kid vs. Bhupinder Gujjar vs. Jai Vidal set for the show.
