Main Event Set For WWE NXT Great American Bash

The main event for NXT Great American Bash was made on last night's show

The main event for NXT's upcoming Great American Bash has been set following last night's show.

Bron Breakker will defend his NXT Championship against Cameron Grimes at the event, which takes place on July 5. The bout was set up during a pair of segments last night.

In the first, Breakker was shown encouraging Grimes backstage, telling him that he will be a champion again one day (after losing the North American Title). Grimes responded that he wasn't looking for sympathy from anyone.

Later, after Breakker had successfully defended his title against Duke Hudson, Grimes made his way to the ring and challenged him to a title match after claiming that Bron had been fast-tracked due to being the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner.

Breakker accepted the challenge.

So far, the match is the only one that has been announced for NXT Great American Bash.

The Great American Bash special will be the third time WWE NXT have revived the old WCW pay-per-view. The 2021 special was headlined by the second match between Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly.
