Major United States Title Match Set For WWE Raw

A major match has been set for next week's edition of Monday Night Raw and Bobby Lashley will defend the United States Championship against Seth Rollins.

The match came about on Raw during a backstage segment in which Rollins declared himself the face of Monday Night Raw. The Visionary then happened to bump into Bobby Lashley, who took issue with Rollins' statement, replying that he who holds gold is the face of Monday Night Raw. A back and forth ensued before Rollins noted that he would gladly capture Lashley's United States Title.

Earlier in the night, Rollins noted that he was looking to win gold, hinting at an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match, before he was attacked by Matt Riddle. The two competitors have been feuding for much of the summer and Rollins picked up a win over his rival at Clash At The Castle on September 3. 

Lashley has been United States Champion since defeating Austin Theory at June's Money In The Bank pay-per-view. He has successfully defended the belt against the likes of AJ Styles, The Miz, and Tommaso Ciampa. 

Also set for next week's edition of Raw is Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory. The match was booked following a brawl between the former Universal Champion and Theory on September 12.
