There’s been an update on Drew McIntyre’s status ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2025, after the former WWE Champion was stranded overseas.

McIntyre recently visited England to attend a wedding, but was denied boarding for his flight back to the USA, with US resident McIntyre only in possession of his UK passport during the trip. McIntyre’s status for WWE SummerSlam on August 2 and 3 was legitimately jeopardised due to this incident.

Taking to social media, McIntyre has revealed that he has successfully returned to the United States and will be present at SummerSlam as he and Logan Paul take on Randy Orton and Jelly Roll in tag team action.

The Miz had offered to take Drew’s place in case he could not make it to SummerSlam, but Drew brushed off ‘Missionary Mike’ in a video posted to X/Twitter, whilst ‘revealing’ that Logan Paul had flown over to the UK in a jet to collect him.

Whilst McIntyre has spun the situation into being an attempt at sabotage by Jelly Roll, he was genuinely stuck in the UK, with WWE producing ‘alternate plans’ in case McIntyre’s situation wouldn’t have been resolved in time.
