Maki Itoh Returning To Japan

The Cutest Pro-Wrestler in the World is saying goodbye to AEW, for now...

Maki Itoh has announced that she is returning to Japan after a brief stint in AEW.

The self-proclaimed ‘Cutest Wrestler in the World’ has built a cult following outside of Japan, with her recent showings in the AEW Women’s World Title Tournament Eliminator earning her rave reviews and a legion of fans.

Taking to Twitter, Itoh said:
“I'm going back to Japan!
I can only speak Makiglish but everyone was kind and I was very happy [teary smile emoji]
Do you want to see me again?
I'm sorry, the next schedule has not been decided. But I hope we can meet again!
Thank you f*** you all [black heart emoji] [middle finger emoji] #AEW”

Itoh appeared on last night’s premier episode of AEW: Dark Elevation losing to former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho.

We’ll have to wait and see if Itoh returns to AEW when the pandemic eases off. But based on the reception she got this time round, you’d assume she’d be back in the fold as soon as possible.
