Malakai Black Vs. Buddy Matthews Set For WrestleCade SuperShow

A WWE rivalry rekindled

Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews will face each other for the first time since their WWE releases later this month.

WrestleCade announced on Monday that Black and Matthews will go one-on-one in the main event of their upcoming SuperShow from the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on November 27.

In other matches on the SuperShow, Thunder Rosa will take on Deonna Purrazzo and Mercedes Martinez in a Three-Way, new AEW signing Jay Lethal will face Matt Cardona, and "Big Money" Matt Hardy will clash with nZo.

WrestleCade will be the first time Black and Matthews have faced each other since their widely-praised trilogy of matches in late 2019 and early 2020 in WWE.

The then Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy first faced each other at the 2019 TLC pay-per-view and they would clash two more times on episodes of Monday Night Raw, with their third and final encounter taking place on January 13, 2020. Black won all three of their matches.

Speaking about Buddy Matthews during a recent chat with talkSPORT, Malakai Black admitted they will always be intertwined because of what they achieved in WWE with the trilogy.

The two men were previously scheduled to face each other at a Battleground Championship Wrestling show in December but that match has been scrapped and Matthews will face Tony Nese instead.
