Malakai Black Vs. Dustin Rhodes Announced For 9/8 AEW Dynamite

Black continues tormenting the Nightmare Family

Malakai Black's swath of destruction through the Nightmare Family will carry over into this coming week's AEW Dynamite, as he takes on Dustin Rhodes in singles competition.

Black defeated Nightmare Family member Lee Johnson on Friday night's Rampage in Chicago. In the match's latter stages, Black brought a chair into the ring and tried tempting Johnson to use it on him. Johnson wielded the chair, but as he mulled the decision, Black leveled him with Black Mass for the decisive win.

After the match, Rhodes made the save for Johnson, chasing Black off. In an ensuing promo, Rhodes told Black he'd meet him on Dynamite.

Since debuting in AEW in July, Black has specifically targeted The Nightmare Family. He defeated Cody Rhodes on August 4 in under five minutes, and later decimated Brock Anderson (son of Arn) in another short match. Black has also assaulted Arn on a pair of occasions.

The current card for AEW Dynamite, taking place Wednesday night from Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, is as follows:

* Malakai Black vs. Dustin Rhodes

* Jon Moxley's "homecoming" (unclear if it's a match or a different type of segment)
