If you’re someone who tunes in to every televised wrestling show, your schedule just got even busier! Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, launched in 2024 after he bought the intellectual property of the older classic promotion, has just announced that the company has received a television deal with The Sports Network.
During the cross-promotional Global Wars event with Ring Of Honor, an announcement video aired showcasing several notable professional wrestling stars competing in Canada over the years such as Ric Flair and Andre The Giant, plus footage from recent Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling events (featuring some AEW and ROH talent too), revealing that a new weekly show called Mayhem would air in Canada, starting out on July of this year.
This comes after reports this month that MLP were planning on signing certain wrestlers to guaranteed exclusive contracts in an attempt to try and begin climbing out of the “independent wrestling” category. It also emerged recently that MLP were sourcing more equipment from Canada rather than the US due to the recent trade war between the two countries, as revealed to Cultaholic’s Tom Campbell.
