Match Stopped On AEW Collision Due To Injury

A match between Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue was stopped on AEW Collision

A concerning moment took place on last night’s July 20 episode of AEW Collision in the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as a match was stopped due to an injury.

Hikaru Shida took on Skye Blue in singles action, and during the match the former world champion Shida hit a crossbody to the outside onto Blue. Under the weight of Shida’s body, it appeared as though Blue’s ankle took the full brunt of the force, collapsing beneath her and sending her to the floor in pain. The match was stopped quickly after and Shida was awarded the victory.

After the match, Blue was helped out by officials, not putting any weight on her leg, as seen on fan footage posted to social media. AEW President Tony Khan took to X to note that Blue was being evaluated, but gave no official update.

“Our previous match was stopped + Hikaru Shida was declared the winner, due to an ankle injury to Skye Blue.

Skye Blue is being evaluated now by the Doctors; we're all wishing her the very best.”

We wish Skye Blue the best in her recovery.
