Matt Cardona Open To Bobby Lashley Match At WWE WrestleMania 39

Matt Cardona would consider facing Bobby Lashley at WWE WrestleMania 39

Until we definitively hear one way or another, the rumours of Matt Cardona returning to WWE are not going to go away, with the former Intercontinental Champion further raising speculation surrounding his future with comments regarding the upcoming WWE WrestleMania 39 event on April 1 and April 2.

Cardona seemingly suggested he could be open for a WrestleMania showdown with Bobby Lashley after Lashley announced that he ‘doesn’t care’ who he faces at Mania, with the former WWE Champion’s clash with Bray Wyatt up in the air due to Wyatt’s absence with a 'physical issue'.

Taking to Twitter, Cardona replied to Lashley’s statement, saying the following: "My last @WWE match? & My First Match back? #AlwayzReady."

Indeed, Cardona’s last match in WWE saw the then Zack Ryder suffer a quick loss to Lashley on the March 9, 2020 edition of Raw.

Following his WWE release, Cardona reinvented himself on the independent scene, becoming one of the most in-demand names in indie wrestling due to noteworthy stints in GCW amongst others. Since seemingly exiting IMPACT wrestling in January 2023, Cardona has been strongly linked with a WWE return, with the rumour mill going into overdrive when Cardona’s wife Chelsea Green re-signed with the company, returning on-screen at the Royal Rumble in January 2023.
