Matt Cardona's WWE Return Is "Only A Matter Of Time" Thinks Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green believes Matt Cardona will return to WWE
Talk of Matt Cardona returning to WWE has been ongoing for quite some time now, though no movement has seemingly been made for the former Zack Ryder to return to WWE, with him still competing on the independent circuit and in promotions like the NWA, GCW, and MLW.
Cardona’s wife, Chelsea Green, is a current WWE superstar and former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, and when she returned to the company back in 2023, some believed that Cardona would follow suit. During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Green was asked about the prospect of Cardona coming back to WWE.
"I’m waiting. I am patiently waiting. Because not that I want to be partnered up with him in WWE. That would be great. I think we could have an amazing mixed match, tag team division, whatever it is. But I don’t know. I don’t know why, I would love to know why. I would love to be a fly on the wall of the meetings of the top guys in WWE. But I do feel like in my heart of hearts, it’s only a matter of time, it feels crazy that he wouldn’t be.”
Cardona was released from WWE in 2020 after nearly 15 years with the promotion.
