Matt Cardona Sustains Possible Injury At GCW Downward Spiral

A possible injury for Matt Cardona

One of the biggest stars in independent wrestling could be set for a stint on the shelf.

Matt Cardona announced over the week that he may have torn his bicep during his match with Blake Christian at GCW Downward Spiral.

Cardona revealed the possible injury in replying to a tweet from Christian, writing: "I think I tore my bicep and I still finished the match and beat you!!!"

Cardona also tweeted about missing his own afterparty, noting: "Sorry guys. Gotta miss this after party at @NerdBarLV. Messed up my arm at GCW tonight and I need to get a red eye to Orlando to get it checked out."

'Alwayz Ready' has been a regular in Game Changer Wrestling since the summer of 2021 and he is a former GCW World Champion, having defeated Nick Gage for the gold in his in-ring debut for the promotion. Cardona then lost the title a couple of months later to Jon Moxley.

Cardona is also the reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.
