Only hours before Jeff Hardy's arrest, Matt Hardy provided an update on his brother's health to Lucha Libre Online.
The Hardys' were scheduled to face Jurassic Express and The Young Bucks in a Three-Way Ladder Match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite and Matt said about the match: "As long as Jeff clears [is medically cleared], which I think he's going to clear OK, we really want to go out and tear the house down in this Three-Way Ladder Match and become the AEW World Tag Team Champions. If we do that, we are going to be the first tag team in pro wrestling history to hold the major world tag team titles in four different decades."
As of the time of writing, the AEW World Tag Team Title match is no longer being advertised for Dynamite and WarnerMedia have been told to stop all promotion of The Charismatic Enigma following his arrest.
Jeff Hardy was out of action prior to his arrest after being "knocked loopy" at AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29. Reports had also noted the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion had been "hurting for a while" and was "a mess" prior to the pay-per-view match.
Jeff was arrested on Monday morning in Volusia County, Florida, on multiple charges, including DUI, violating restrictions on his license, and driving with a suspended or revoked license. The police report noted Hardy was "going significantly under the speed limit, weaving across travel lanes and running off the shoulder of the roadway" prior to being pulled over. His blood-alcohol concentration was over three times above the legal limit in Florida.
