Matt Hardy Forced To Shut Down Rumours That He's Passed Away

Matt Hardy has been forced to deny rumours that he has passed away.

A bizarre post from a fake Bill Goldberg page on Facebook claimed that Matt Hardy had died. This is a regular tactic from the page that is filled with AI-created images of Goldberg and posts falsely claiming a wrestler has died.

The post about Hardy received 1,800 comments and over 1,000 shares on Facebook, and Matt himself ended up taking to Instagram on Thursday to shut down any talk that he had died and to promote last night's episode of TNA IMPACT.

"Ladies and gentleman, the rumours are not true. The Hardy Boyz are not dead because Matt and Jeff Hardy will not die! We are both alive and well and we will be featured tonight in the main event of TNA IMPACT that starts at 9 pm ET on AMC. We will be teaming up reluctantly with The Righteous. We will be taking on those jackasses, The System. Righteous, this is your one opportunity to make things right, and if you betray us, if you turn on us, you're gong to FAFO. F*ck around and find out," Matt said.

Hardy then wrote in the comments: "Sorry to frighten anyone, but that FB post of my obituary has been sent to me 100 times today & I wanted to let everyone know it was false. It won't be my ghost tonight on TNA iMPACT at 9pm on @amc_tv - It's the alive & well Matt Hardy!"

The System ultimately defeated The Hardys and The Righteous in the main event of Thursday Night IMPACT when Vincent pushed Matt Hardy out of the way and ate a Boston Knee Party from Eddie Edwards.
