Matt Hardy Highlights The Importance Of Giving Back As A Wrestling Veteran

Matt Hardy loves working with new talent

As a thirty-year veteran of the wrestling business, Matt Hardy understands the importance of giving back.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, the current AEW star noted that he enjoys using his experience to help the next generation of talent:

"I love giving back. When we were younger, I remember that being much bigger of an issue with the older talent. Myself and Jeff, we promised we’d never be those guys. It's part of the responsibility to give younger guys a rub. Without people giving back, the business withers away. Someone made the older talent. Then comes the time to make someone new. The business has definitely gotten a lot more selfless over the past 30 years," Hardy said.

Hardy has been aligned with Isiah Kassidy in recent times. Speaking with Steve Fall for NBC Sports last year, the Private Party member noted that Matt had helped the team out tremendously backstage.

"I feel like Matt Hardy helped us a lot. You may not have seen it on TV or in person, but behind the scenes, he helped us a lot. Even on TV, it translated from when we first started to when Matt Hardy came with us, it's a big difference. You can see the difference from when we first started to now because he helped us with a lot of stuff, physically, mentally, how to go into matches, how to prepare for matches, all that good stuff. I feel like Matt Hardy personally helped us tremendously"
