Danhausen won't be departing All Elite Wrestling any time in the near future.

Danhausen's contract with AEW was due to expire in July 2025, but the 'Very Nice, Very Evil' pro wrestler remains listed on the promotion's roster page as he is still a part of the company. Fightful Select has reported that Danhausen's contract was set to expire on July 1, but AEW have added time onto the talent's deal, which keeps him under contract well into 2026.

The belief is Danhausen asked AEW not to pick up the option in his contract and he was ready to leave the promotion after rarely being booked over the past two years. That didn't prevent AEW from adding time to his contract, however.

Danhausen signed with All Elite Wrestling in early 2022, although he has not appeared on AEW programming since Worlds End 2023, and he hasn't appeared in Ring of Honor outside of a surprise appearance at Final Battle 2024.

There had previously been issues between AEW and Danhausen which resulted in Danhausen expressing his frustration to Tony Khan, but this was before Danhausen was brought back at Final Battle. Danhausen believed he would be booked following Final Battle but he was told there were no plans for him whenever he reached out after the pay-per-view.

Why exactly AEW opted to add time onto Danhausen's contract is unknown, but reports earlier this year noted there was major interest from WWE in signing the 35-year-old when he was available.
