Danhausen hasn't been in AEW since last December's Worlds End pay-per-view (where he competed in a pre-show battle royal) and hasn't appeared on Ring of Honor television since a victory over Brandon Cutler in early February.

The 34-year-old's absence has led to speculation among fans as to why he has been missing. A new report by Fightful Select has shed some light on where Danhausen has been and why he hasn't been on AEW TV.

According to the report, Danhausen remains under contract with Tony Khan's promotion through the Summer of 2025. Despite that, there are no creative plans for his return.

Fightful's report noted that plans changing regarding his return from injury last November resulted in Danhausen expressing his frustrations directly to Khan. It added that the Very Nice, Very Evil wrestler is willing to return, but pitches for him to do so haven't led anywhere.

He has remained active on the independent circuit, wrestling over 50 matches around the world since last appearing for AEW.

The belief within AEW is that Danhausen wanted to prioritise his independent dates over working Collision, while the Danhausen side contends there were family-related issues that limited his availability.

While Danhausen may not be returning to AEW anytime soon, former TNA star "Speedball" Mike Bailey may be on his way in.
