Matt Hardy Thinks A Prime Jerry Lynn Would Get Over In 2023

A prime Jerry Lynn would do very well in 2023, according to Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy would bet on a prime Jerry Lynn being one of the most over acts on any wrestling show in 2023.

During a recent edition of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the current AEW star praised Lynn while talking about why he did not succeed during his brief WWE run in 2001:

"I think in this day and age, if you would have taken Jerry Lynn from WWE, who Jerry Lynn is actually a very funny guy and he's very enjoyable got a great personality, but [Vince McMahon], I don't think Vince saw a lot of personality in him. Vince was like, 'Oh, there's really not much I can do with him'. So he didn't do much with him," Hardy said.

Hardy continued:

"If you had Jerry Lynn in his prime in the 2023 wrestling talent pool, it would be very different. Jerry Lynn would be one of the most over guys on the entire show, and there's a few other guys I can think about that would kind of fall in that category."

Lynn joined WWE in March of 2001, following the collapse of ECW. The former ECW World Champion defeated Crash Holly to capture the WWE Light Heavyweight Title in his televised debut. After sustaining a knee injury, Lynn was released in February of 2002.

As well as ECW and WWE, 'The New F'n Show' also wrestled for WCW, New Japan, Ring of Honor, TNA and numerous other promotions during his career, before retiring in 2013. He is currently signed to AEW, where he works as a backstage coach/producer.
