Max Dupri Teases Gimmick Change

Could an old gimmick be coming back?

A WWE SmackDown star looks set to undergo a gimmick change.

LA Knight was renamed after he moved to the main roster earlier this year, being repackaged as Max Dupri of Maximum Male Models. He has since formed a stable with Ma.ce, Mån.sôör, and Maxxine Dupri but Max teased a return to his LA Knight gimmick after Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Following Maximum Male Models and Los Lotharios' loss to The Street Profits and Hit Row on SmackDown, MMM were shown sulking backstage in a WWE digital exclusive video. Their sulking was soon halted, though, as Max Dupri appeared and said: "I have been here before and unfortunately, a couple of too many times, and in that process I have learned you have to go through the day to get to the night."

The moment ultimately hints at a return to LA Knight for Dupri, a gimmick which came together while Triple H was in charge of WWE NXT. The Game has since become Chief Content Officer which includes him being head of creative on the main roster and Triple H may well have opted to bring back a popular persona from the developmental brand.
