CM Punk Undergoes Surgery On Torn Triceps

CM Punk has surgery

CM Punk has undergone surgery.

The 43-year-old suffered a torn left triceps during his AEW World Title match against Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view on Sunday, September 4. Punk sustained the injury while connecting with a Suicide Dive early in the match and he ultimately continued with the contest, defeating Moxley to become a two-time AEW World Champion.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Punk underwent surgery to fix the torn left triceps earlier this week. Punk's doctor recommended he undergo surgery right away to stop any muscle atrophy.

Punk is expected to be out of action for up to eight months.

Following his injury and his involvement in a backstage fight with The Elite after All Out, Punk was stripped of the AEW World Championship on the September 7 episode of Dynamite. A new AEW World Champion will be crowned at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 21 in a tournament final. The final four competitors are Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Sammy Guevara.
