Max To Air Six-Part Docuseries On Ted Turner
Ted Turner will be the subject of a docuseries on Max
Nov 10, 2024
Vince McMahon isn’t the only ex-owner of a professional wrestling company who is getting the limelight in a multi-part docuseries on a streaming service, as former WCW owner and founder of both CNN & TBS, Ted Turner, will be receiving his own deep-dive, though don’t expect it to be full of as many controversies.
It has been announced by Max that there will be a six-part series released on November 13 next week taking a look at the life and career of Ted Turner. WBD released the following statement:
“Debuts November 13
CALL ME TED
Documentary Series
Logline: A six-part documentary on the extraordinary life of Ted Turner.
Credits: Written and directed by Keith Clarke; produced by Joni Levin; executive produced by John C. Malone, Brian L. Roberts, Charles F. Dolan, and S. Taylor Glover.”
Turner purchased the financially unstable Jim Crockett Promotions in 1988, rebranding the company to World Championship Wrestling, leading a huge shift in the professional wrestling landscape as the company challenged the chokehold that WWE had on the industry, waging war in the 1990s. Turner is currently 85 years of age, though he has been out of the public eye since being diagnosed in 2018 with Lewy body dementia.
