Maxxine Dupri's Deceased Brother Used In Storyline On WWE Raw

Maxxine Dupri's deceased brother mentioned in an angle on WWE Raw

WWE have received criticism on social media over an angle that saw Maxxine Dupri's deceased brother be used against her by Candice LeRae on Monday Night Raw.

Dupri teamed with Ivy Nile on the March 11 episode of Raw and she looked to hit a Reverse Caterpillar on Indi Hartwell during the match, only to be cut off by Candice LeRae who proceeded to berate Dupri, saying: "Are you serious? Are you serious right now? You're going to try that on us? You know why people are booing you, right? It's because you don't belong here. Did that hurt your feelings? If you think the internet hates you, you should hear what the girls in the locker room have to say about you. Oh, you gonna cry? It's a good thing your dead brother isn't here to see what an embarrassment you've become."

Maxxine Dupri then tried to run off but she only ran straight into a kick from Indi Hartwell which allowed The Way to pick up the win.

Maxxine's brother Wyatt Zmrzel was killed in an automobile accident in 2017 when he was just 22 years old. Due to the rare genetic condition called adrenoleukodystrophy, Wyatt relied on car services. He passed away after his Lyft driver pulled onto the highway straight into a Toyota 4Runner.

The LeRae angle is also playing off recent boos for Maxxine Dupri at WWE events, with one such instance going viral following the February 17 live event in Oakland, California. A number of WWE talents rushed to support Dupri while an anonymous wrestler within the company defended fans, saying they have the right to boo and cheer who they want.
