Mercedes Moné Not Returning To NJPW Or Stardom Anytime Soon

A NJPW or Stardom return for Mercedes Moné not happening anytime soon

It’s been nearly six months since Mercedes Moné last competed, with the former IWGP Women’s Champion having been on the injured list since May.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are no plans for Moné to return to NJPW or Stardom anytime soon.

Initial plans were for Moné and top Stardom talent Giulia to clash in a dream match for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title, but these plans were put on hold when Moné got injured. Willow Nightingale ended up defeating Moné for the vacant belt and became the inaugural champion at NJPW STRONG Resurgence on May 21, with ‘The Babe With The Power’ eventually dropping the title to Giulia at NJPW STRONG Independence Day on July 5.

Meltzer’s report alleges that NJPW/Stardom will have to decide on dates and costs to run the Moné vs. Giulia bout for when Moné is ready to return, with Moné not booked for any NJPW dates at this moment in time.

Moné was in the crowd at All Elite Wrestling’s huge All In show in Wembley Stadium in August, with Moné still wearing a protective boot over her injured ankle at the show.
