Will we hear "Let's get ready to rumble!" inside a wrestling ring again?

Legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer revealed on social media last night that he would return to professional wrestling "in a heartbeat" if given the opportunity.

He tweeted: "In a heartbeat!!! Love the heels & babyfaces!! Some of the best athletes in the world..I don't know how they do what they do!!"

Famous for his catchphrase, "Let's get ready to rumble!", Buffer has a long history with wrestling. He was the ring announcer for World Championship Wrestling pay-per-view main events until the company folded in 2001 and was on hand for famous matches like Sting vs. Hulk Hogan at Starrcade 1997 and Goldberg vs. Diamond Dallas Page from Halloween Havoc 1998.

Buffer then returned to a pro wrestling ring in 2007 for a boxing match between Evander Holyfield and Matt Hardy on WWE Saturday Night Main Event in Madison Square Garden, and he later introduced fans to the 2008 Royal Rumble match.

Both WWE and AEW, of course, have their own in-house ring announcers, but one of the companies may decide to bring Michael Buffer in to give a match a big fight feel.
