Michael Cole Reveals When He Plans To Start Slowing Down In WWE

Michael Cole has a lot more matches left to call

WWE announcer Michael Cole is one of the company's most tenured performers and will celebrate 26 years in WWE next month.

Initially a backstage interviewer, Cole transitioned full-time to the commentary table in 1999 and has called the action on both Raw and SmackDown over the years. He has been WWE's Vice President of Announcing since 2020.

Speaking with broadcast partner Pat McAfee on McAfee's show, Cole revealed when he plans to start slowing down in WWE, saying:

"I'm gonna be married 30 years, so if I want it to last longer than that, I'm probably going to have to stop at some point. But no, it won't be anytime soon. I still got a lot of work to do with this company. I mean, there's still a lot of stuff to do. Still a lot of shows to call. I told somebody that I would [have lasted this long, I wouldn't believe it.] You know, I'm 56 now, so 60 sounds like a pretty good age to maybe slow down a little bit"

Cole recently opened up on his retirement plans, noting that he won't be announcing when he's a 75 or 80-year-old man.
