Mike Santana Gone From AEW

AEW & Mike Santana have parted ways

Mike Santana is no longer a part of All Elite Wrestling.

Following his removal from the AEW roster page, Fightful Select have reported that Mike Santana is officially gone from AEW, with sources close to the former Inner Circle member noting he is done with the promotion. Santana has not been backstage at AEW shows for months.

The two sides are said to have parted ways last week.

Santana signed with All Elite Wrestling back in 2019, debuting at All Out alongside longtime tag team partner Ortiz following multiple years in TNA. They were featured in high-profile matches as part of the Inner Circle and later against the Jericho Appreciation Society. Santana suffered an ACL injury during the 2022 Blood & Guts match that kept him out of action for over a year.

At some point, Santana and Ortiz had a real-life falling out that ended their tag team. They briefly reunited for the Stadium Stampede Match at All In 2023 but soon feuded on AEW TV, a programme which ended with a win for Santana on the October 27 edition of Rampage.

Santana had not wrestled for AEW since his match with Ortiz but he has remained active in independent wrestling. He is the reigning HOG Heavyweight Champion, having defeated Matt Cardona for the belt on December 1.

Many fans have called not putting the AEW World Tag Team Titles on Santana and Ortiz one of the promotion's biggest missed opportunities. Proud & Powerful were twice planned to win the belts before All Elite Wrestling changed the plans.
