Mike Tenay Was Asked To Come Out Of Retirement At IMPACT Bound For Glory

IMPACT talents wanted Mike Tenay to come out of retirement

IMPACT Wrestling held their 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony ahead of the Bound For Glory pay-per-view on Saturday, October 21 and Traci Brooks, as well as Mike Tenay and Don West were the latest inductees into the promotion's Hall of Fame.

Mike Tenay's Hall of Fame speech for himself and Don West has been unanimously praised and Tenay appears to have been a popular presence backstage. According to PWInsider Elite, it meant a lot to IMPACT to have Tenay at Bound For Glory and the promotion had been making overtures as far back as five years ago.

Some hoped Tenay would call a match at Bound For Glory and some talents even asked Tenay to come out of retirement while he was backstage at Cicero Stadium. Tenay ultimately turned down the chance to come out of retirement, simply saying that IMPACT was in good hands with Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt at the commentary desk.

Following several years as part of World Championship Wrestling, Mike Tenay became the voice of TNA from the promotion's first show in June 2002 until January 2015. He remained with the promotion until his retirement in 2016.

There have reportedly been overtures from the likes of WWE, MLW, and GCW to Tenay but he has turned them all down as he has no financial concerns and is enjoying retirement.
