Minnesota's Sports & Events President Explains Why The State Did Not Get WrestleMania

Minnesota missed out on hosting WrestleMania 41

After several months of the expectation being that WWE was headed to Minnesota for WrestleMania for the first time ever next year, it emerged last night at the Kentucky Derby that WrestleMania 41 is instead being held in the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 19 and 20.

This is unfortunate news for the state of Minnesota, who were one of the frontrunners for the event, as confirmed in the Minnesota Tribune. A statement was given from the Minnesota Sports & Events president and chief executive, Wendy Blackshaw, who provided some insight into why the path for WrestleMania 41 changed.

"We were informed by WWE that Minnesota would not host WrestleMania in 2025 due to a change in direction by new ownership. Although disappointed, we are in discussions with WWE about future events in Minnesota. We are optimistic that Minnesota will host WWE events here in the future."

This is of course in reference to the fact that WWE’s new ownership in Endeavor/TKO and the leadership under the likes of Nick Khan and Triple H led to a change in plans.
