Mistico Defeats Chris Jericho, Willow Nightingale Loses CMLL Women's Title At CMLL 91st Anniversary Show

Several AEW stars appeared at last night’s CMLL 91st Anniversary show, though some of AEW’s big stars were on the losing end of their respective matches.

Willow Nightingale put her CMLL Women’s Championship on the line against Zeuxis, being put down to the mat after an Avalanche Powerbomb, getting pinned for the three count and ending her reign after just 61 days. At All Out 2024, Nightingale was initially slated to defend the CMLL Women’s Championship against Kris Statlander, but CMLL did not sanction the match.

Elsewhere on the show, Mistico defeated Chris Jericho 2-1 in a two out of three falls match in one of the co-main events of the evening. Jericho got the advantage early on, submitting Mistico with the Walls Of Jericho, but Mistico levelled things up with a big Frog Splash. Despite being outnumbered by the interfering Big Bill, Mistico managed to take him out, avoid a Judas Effect, and then lock in La Mistica to submit Jericho to win the match.

Following the bout, Mistico was attacked by Big Bill. AEW’s Orange Cassidy emerged to make the save after competing in a match earlier in the night. Cassidy is currently feuding with Jericho in AEW.
