Mistico Not Planned For AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

MJF is the current reigning CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, and in recent months has engaged in a feud with CMLL’s Mistico, with the pair meeting on AEW Grand Slam: Mexico earlier this year. AEW is fast approaching its Forbidden Door PPV, which will feature a crossover of names from AEW, NJPW, CMLL, Stardom and ROH. However, Mistico will not be a part of the festivities. 

It is noted by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a show on the same day as Forbidden Door has already announced matches featuring some of their biggest stars; Mistico & Neon vs. Mascara Dorada & Atlantis Jr. and Hechicero & Templario vs. Rey Astral & Estrellato, so don’t expect to see any of these wrestlers in London. 

It seems as though a match between MJF and Mistico, hinted at to be a mask vs. title bout, will take place at CMLL’s anniversary show. It was reported in recent months that WWE had potential interest in Mistico following his work as CMLL’s number one star. As AEW heads towards Forbidden Door, some of the first matches were announced and made official for the PPV over the last couple of weeks.
