NXT Europe is like a myth at this point, and that notion seems to be continuing per some recent updates on the status of WWE creating this potential new brand. Following the death of NXT UK, many believed the prospect of NXT Europe becoming a thing was set to increase, but nothing prominent has surfaced in this area for some time.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, any and all talk of NXT Europe in WWE has become completely non-existent. Triple H stated earlier this year that WWE were still planning to run NXT Europe, and there was some excitement drumming up recently on the European independent scene, but it seems as though this project has once again died down.
It was reported in an exclusive from Cultaholic that WWE viewed their acquisition of AAA to end up becoming something in the sense of an ‘NXT Mexico’, perhaps even with a name change in store. It was then revealed in a more recent report that WWE is planning to use AAA as a developmental territory, drafting over younger names to NXT and then the main roster.
