Mistico has had plenty of spotlight within 2025, with the CMLL star continuing to rise in popularity and prominence in Mexico, but also getting featured plenty on American soil, with him seeking to overcome his disappointing WWE run several years back. Mistico has had matches in the likes of MLW and AEW, and not only does the reigning CMLL Light Heavyweight World Champion want to appear more in the US, he would also like to sign a deal with a promotion.
Speaking with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Mistico revealed his desire to sign a dual contract which would allow him to appear regularly both in Mexico and the United States.
“I’m looking for an opportunity in any promotion in the world. If I receive an opportunity, I will take it. I proved that I love Lucha Libre. It doesn’t matter if it’s in Mexico, London, or Japan. I think that I’ve shown what I’m made of, and now I think it’s time to look for new things. If I have an opportunity for a championship in an American company, I’m going to do it in AEW and MLW with all the pleasure of the world. Like other teammates who have a wonderful double contract, I would like to have that kind of contract. Or also to have new rivalries with other superstars. So I’m looking for new opportunities and new challenges in my career.”
When it comes to AEW, Mistico wouldn’t be the first name to have had a dual deal, with the likes of both Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero being examples of this working well within the company. Earlier this year, it was reported that WWE held some interest in bringing back Mistico (the former Sin Cara).
