There are few reports, rumblings, and bits of news spread across the professional wrestling world on October 5. Although things are quiet on the WWE front, both contract news and injuries have cropped for the likes of AEW & TNA, and we shall take a look at all of it.

Update On Britt Baker's AEW Future

Britt Baker has been absent from AEW programming since 2024, and despite some words from Tony Khan suggesting that he’d like her back in the mix, the former AEW Women’s World Champion has not resurfaced on television. In a Fightful Select Q&A, some details about Baker’s status were given.

It is noted that Baker’s contract with AEW runs until the latter months of 2026, and this is without AEW exercising their option to add injury time to the deal, which is a possibility. Rumours circulated earlier this year of WWE’s potential interest in signing Britt Baker due to reports over her asking for a release, but she is still under an AEW deal for the foreseeable future.

Bandido is currently on a roll on AEW & ROH programming, reigning as both AEW World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Champion. However, a roadblock has shown up in his way as it has been revealed that Bandido suffered an injury when competing at a CMLL event.

After defending his ROH World Title, Bandido posted a picture to his Instagram Stories where he was shown sporting a sling. He provided the following update;

“Apologies to all the CMLL fans. My shoulder popped out and went back into place. Thank you, Hechicero, for being a gentleman. We owe a third match to all our Mexican fans.”

In response to a fan wanting Bandido to still defend his gold on Dynamite next week, Tony Khan responded on X and revealed that Bandido was prepared to power through and wrestle.

Contract Update On TNA's Cedric Alexander

It was reported in recent weeks that Cedric Alexander had signed a deal with TNA following his appearances in the promotion. Fightful Select have provided another update on his status, as it seems as though he may already be a free agent once again. It was revealed by TNA sources that Alexander had in fact signed a deal, but it was a short-term one that expired around the time of Bound For Glory.

Fightful notes that many TNA talent work under short-term deals, and the company is hoping to keep Alexander on the roster. The members involved in AEW’s Hurt Syndicate are reportedly wanting him to join them over in AEW, though it remains to be seen what his next steps will be right now.
