The Wednesday Night Wars of 2019/2020 were an exciting time, with AEW and WWE NXT going head-to-head in a ratings battle. AEW eventually won the war, and MJF thinks a documentary should be produced about the time.
AEW won the ratings battle handily, and MJF thinks they should release a documentary about the time period, with the AEW World Champion saying the following to Joe Hulbert of Late Night Grin Productions:
“I do think we drop the ball in my company, and I’ve said this to Tony, ‘We should do a Wednesday Night Wars’ documentary. We literally won, and we have guys who work in our company now who were on the other side. It’d be fucking sick. You can sit down (Adam) Cole, Roddy (Strong), Kyle (O’Reilly), Swerve (Strickland), all these guys that were on the other side of the war. You can’t sit down Bobby Fish, unfortunately. Folks, where is the lie?” Said MJF.
WWE famously made several documentaries about past competitors, with a Monday Night Wars documentary produced several years after the historic battle between WWF RAW is WAR and WCW Nitro came to a head in 2001.
Whilst the Wednesday Night Wars themselves are long over, WWE reportedly employ some staff to keep an eye on their closest competition to this day.
