MJF's AEW Worlds End Opponent Revealed

MJF's opponent for AEW Worlds End revealed

MJF's planned opponent for the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30 has been revealed.

The pay-per-view will emanate from the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York and according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, MJF's planned opponent at Worlds End is Samoa Joe.

"Apparently he'll be ready for the pay-per-view with Samoa Joe which looks like that's the December show in Nassau Coliseum," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Friedman is currently dealing with multiple injuries following his AEW World Title match with Jay White at Full Gear. He is not expected to miss any TV time, though Friedman will reportedly be utilised in a non-wrestling role until Worlds End.

Samoa Joe was expected to challenge for the AEW World Title in the near future, especially after he told MJF that he wanted a title shot if he teamed with Friedman on the Full Gear pre-show to successfully defend the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Gunns.

Samoa Joe ultimately did so but MJF hinted during the post-Full Gear media scrum that he didn't plan to honour their verbal agreement.

"Here's the deal. I really didn't have a choice. I knew if I didn't take Samoa Joe up on his offer I knew I was going to break a promise that I made to him [Adam Cole]... I'm just being honest, I'm not saying I'm afraid but Joe's scary. Joe's like a very big gigantic tank of a man. Literally, he's an army tank with a Ferrari engine. Am I looking forward to wrestling him? No. Am I gonna do it? I'm sure he's gonna watch this but to be honest I've still got to think about that because it's not like I signed a deal with him. Sometimes I can be a bit of a d**che so we'll see what happens. It was a verbal agreement but it kind of is what it is, Tony so let's drop it," MJF stated.

MJF previously successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at Dynamite Grand Slam in September. Friedman has been AEW World Champion for over a year.
