MJF's First AEW World Title Challenger Revealed

Who will be the first to take on AEW World Champion MJF?

We are several days removed from MJF finally winning the big one at AEW Full Gear 2022, when the ‘Generational Talent’ overcame Jon Moxley to lift the AEW World Championship.

Now, it’s been confirmed that the first to step up to the plate for a shot at MJF’s gold will be Ricky Starks, after ‘Absolute’ overcame Ethan Page in the final of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament on the November 24 edition of Dynamite.

A heavily taped-up Starks got the win over Page after three spears, and will face MJF for the gold at Winter is Coming on December 14.

Starks had a tough route to the final, overcoming Lance Archer after taking a severe beating from ‘The Murderhawk Monster’, and defeating former partner Brian Cage at the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show. Page overcame Eddie Kingston and Bandido on his way to the final.

The final was originally set for Full Gear, but was shifted to Dynamite due to Starks' ‘injuries’ at the hands of Archer.
