MJF Wins AEW World Title At Full Gear

MJF wins the big one

MJF is the new AEW World Heavyweight champion, after defeating Jon Moxley in the main event of AEW Full Gear in Newark.

Late in match, referee Bryce Remsburg was bumped after MJF pulled him into an charging Moxley’s path. MJF went to use the diamond ring, but William Regal admonished him, to which MJF opted to toss the ring away.

After replacement ref Paul Turner was also bumped, Moxley pulled MJF into the bulldog choke, to which MJF tapped with no ref.

Frustrated by no referee, Moxley broke the hold, and Regal told him to wake Remsburg. When Moxley went to do so, Regal slid his brass knucks to MJF. MJF then knocked Moxley out with the weapon and scored the win.

The win gives MJF his first championship belt in AEW. The only honor he'd previously won was the Dynamite Diamond Ring, on three occasions from 2019-21.

Moxley's third reign as champion ends after 59 days. He won the vacated title in a tournament final over Bryan Danielson on September 21 in New York City.
